Job description

Kepler executes engineered marketing, where every message and ad delivered helps create a more personalized and productive relationship between brands and their consumers. We do this by acting as clients' agency of record, as their in-house team, or some hybrid of the two - and by harnessing data and technology across all paid digital media and data-driven CRM channels.
Kepler prides itself on being a great place to work. In fact, we're proud to share that AdAge recognized Kepler among the Best Places to Work in 2022, and Digiday named Kepler the Most Innovative Media Agency in 2025, validating our investment in our team and our clients.
  • We're transparent with our employees. You'll hear updates on company financials, how we're performing against bonus goals, and how we're responding to challenges we face.
  • We're growing. For you, that means unparalleled growth opportunities and a role in shaping the direction of the company.
  • We're fun. You'll work with and learn from the smartest people in the industry and have a blast doing it.

The Role:
Kepler is seeking a dynamic and data-driven Director of Data Strategy & Analytics for Retail to spearhead our initiatives across a portfolio of Retail marketing clients. This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of the paid media ecosystem, exceptional data acumen, and the ability to translate complex analytics and insights into strategic opportunities. The successful candidate will lead a talented team, driving innovation and excellence in data analytics to enhance media program optimization, develop a consultative partnership with clients, and establish actionable measurement roadmaps across accounts.
The DS&A Director plays a critical role in ensuring client and company success. The position requires strong quantitative aptitude, experience with data-forward client management, business acumen to understand and advanced client marketing goals, and a desire to be part of a tightly-knit team that's out to change the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the senior analytics and data leader for a portfolio of Retail brands, requiring hands-on client management, and exceptional communication and prioritizations skills.
  • Build and maintain day-to-day relationships with senior client stakeholders across marketing and analytics teams, and act as a point of escalation on all data and analytics matters.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to determine business goals and analytics opportunities, developing comprehensive Retail-focused measurement strategies.
  • Utilize your natural curiosity and drive to innovate to advance client-specific measurement programs and create new solutions to apply across clients.
  • Translate complex analytics and data into clear, cohesive insights for senior clients, and guide your team on how to do the same.
  • Guide the evolution of Kepler's internal technology platform, Kip, establishing a feedback loop of client needs and applied learnings from new tools that set the development roadmap for our engineering team.
  • Inspire, coach, and mentor staff across multiple disciplines, and shape Kepler culture through your leadership.
  • Be the trusted expert internally. Leverage your experience and knowledge to shape the department's approach to Retail analytics and assist Kepler in driving new business growth in pitches and RFPs.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • 6-8 years of experience of working with data for major digital media platforms (e.g. Google Marketing Platform, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.) across a variety of digital channels (Search, Display, Social, Video, and Email).
  • Experience managing and building client relationships, highlighting the role of data strategy and analytics by developing and delivering strategic solutions for clients.
  • Proven success at translating complex insights and analytics into materials for executive-level audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in retail measurement, with 4-6+ years of experience working with data from Retail Media Networks, including Amazon Advertising, Walmart Connect, and Target Roundel to gain product and customer insights that drive program-level strategy.
  • Hands-on experience using data clean rooms for measurement and insights around customer and media efficiency; Amazon Marketing Cloud experience is preferred, but transferable experience with similar platforms, like LiveRamp, will be considered.
  • Experience with advanced analytics and modeling (e.g. forecasting, marketing mix modeling, LTV), and the design and execution of media tests including audience and geo-based incrementality experimentation.
  • Comfort with full stack of modern marketing data infrastructure (ETL tools, data storage and querying solutions), understanding the data's downstream impact on analytics and insights.
  • Demonstrated understanding of adtech's influence on targeting and measurement, with a specific focus on the use of CDPs and online-to-offline solutions
  • Appetite for learning new technologies and leveraging AI daily to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Expertise in using data and modeling to shape audience segments and predict LTV.
  • Experience managing an internal team of 5-10+ across multiple locations, while coordinating cohesive account strategy with cross-department leadership.

Transparency is fundamental to Kepler's culture. Our compensation strategy is designed to attract, reward, and retain the talented employees that drive Kepler's growth and success.
