Senior Analytics Program Manager (Remote)


Our client, a leading healthcare provider with a five State footprint is looking for a remote Senior Analytics Program Manager for their Portland, Oregon location. Only candidates located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and North Dakota will be considered for this role. This resource oversees the development, implementation, and management of analysis and decision support systems/tools that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of division or department clinical and operational activities. Plans, directs and provides expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, and development of analytic tools and technologies. Provides leadership on analysis and decision support processes, design, and strategies, and partners with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery on analytic needs of the organization. Serves as a technical resource and content expert for projects related to data and information.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Analytics Program Manager:

  • Deliver products or solutions that meet users, business and stakeholder needs without sacrificing quality
  • Create, maintain, and communicate roadmap for services or product owned by team
  • Ensures strategic initiatives are prioritized and escalates as needed when priorities conflict
  • Take ownership in solution and always reflect on how to provide long-term value to the organization as a whole
  • Drive user story review, and clarification sessions with teams to deliver maximum value with available time constraints and resources
  • Rationalize technical requirements and business priorities in cross-functional teams
  • Works closely with Development Manager to understand architecture.
  • Manage work efforts and communications to ensure on-time quality delivery.
  • Define direction / roadmap (short and long term).
  • Serves as the interface between team and stakeholders.
  • Creates User Stories and Tasks for team and prioritizes and grooms backlog.
  • Coordinates support escalation.
  • Proactively recommends courses of action to maintain delivery lifecycle, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensures documentation clear, concise, easy to find, and consumable
  • Ensures quality and security are never after thoughts and are embedded within all processes.
  • Reports on key performance indicators and overall health of solution
  • Drives delivery and outcomes through effective planning, task definition, scope management, cross team coordination, removing impediments, gathering feedback, protecting timeline, continual improvement, and stakeholder communication; accountable for the quality and timeliness of all defined and agreed to deliverables, and for escalation and transparency for progressing to goals.
  • Manages and communicates inter-project dependencies and issues (goals, resource allocation, release planning, technology architecture, etc.) and coordinates and/or leading the activities of team members and stakeholders (product owners, developers, etc) in efforts as appropriate.
  • Uses a thorough understanding of business objectives to influence solutions that produce new insights and opportunities for the organization
  • Ability to work from ambiguous goals and build technical solutions that create concrete, incremental value.
  • Works closely with Development Manager to understand architecture.
  • Ensures team tenets and purpose of service enforced.
  • Ensures legal, security, and privacy stakeholder review.
  • Drives definition of key performance indicators
  • Review documentation, code and repositories for information needed by other teams so developers are not interrupted
  • Assists leadership by providing direction, leadership, mentoring and coaching to technical staff (may be leadership of intact team efforts).
  • Independently identifies opportunities or gaps and influences overall solutions – within team and across the organization
  • Ensures strategic initiatives are prioritized and works directly with stakeholders to resolve conflicts
  • Drives process and procedure updates across multiple teams to ensure alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Promotes the team and solutions, building relationships and helping identify existing components and technologies that can be leveraged to deliver on organizational initiatives
  • Work with internal teams and customers to perform deep data driven analysis of businesses to surface actionable insights and solution requirements
  • Works closely with Development Manager to understand architecture while also offering feedback on the technical design

Requirements/Qualifications for Senior Analytics Program Manager:

  • The Analytics Program Manager Senior would have a Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Masters preferred) and a minimum of 15 years of technical program management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with Scrum Master Certification.
  • Competent understanding of database technology, tools and approaches to effectively oversee design and communicate with technical staff on decision support technology.
  • Ability to apply and interpret quantitative data for decision-making.
  • Ability to perform advanced level of research, data analysis and problem solving.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in data analysis applications (e.g. SAS, MS Excel), data extraction languages (e.g. SQL), and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the work force.
  • Ability to develop rigorous research and statistical methodology, execute research in alignment with research plan, and produce transcripts for publication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, supervisors, and business partners.
  • Ability to effectively promote innovative ideas and approaches and create the infrastructure necessary to support their implementation.
  • Proven leadership skills and abilities as demonstrated by progressively increasing management experience and responsibilities.
  • Ability to plan, organize and lead the work of others with minimal supervision, while developing department goals and objectives consistent with corporate vision and strategies.
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making in professional settings highly desired
