As a Senior Euipment Maintenance Technician at Micron Technology in Manassas, Virginia, you are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment and/or processes in the assigned area, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. Shift Technicians monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to tackle and repair equipment issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with equipment installs, tests
  • Creating and modifying equipment procedures
  • Improve tool uptime by performing detailed solving and repairs. Ensure quality workmanship. Record all maintenance carefully in designated check sheets and tracking programs. Regularly review maintenance sheets and procedures.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and addressing SPC issues for area processes daily and respond to SPC out of control issues
  • Keeping the Lead Tech and/or Lead Engineer updated on tool and area issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years - Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance, specifically working on vacuum systems would be a plus
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits; Basic understanding of physics concepts and principles. SPC principles and accurate application and understand semiconductor equipment/equipment. Basic knowledge of test and calibration equipment (O-scopes, multimeters, DMMs, etc.)
  • Flexible with job responsibilities and shift assignments including night shift; Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) with the need to stand the entire shift and lift equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year industry related associate degree; working towards a STEM related degree; or equivalent military training and experience
  • Prior experience maintaining High Vacuum systems; roughing pumps, turbo pumps, cryo pumps, pressure measurement systems; Maintenance, repair and solving experience with plasma RF systems and semiconductor type plasma etch tools like LAM (KIYO, EXELAN, FX, FLFX) or AMAT CENTURA, MESA, PRODUCER, ENABLER or TEL (DRM, SCCM, VIGUS, VESTA)
  • Experience with multiple robotic systems and proficiency on operation, maintaining and repairing same; Experience with Training and Mentoring technicians

Performs electrical or mechanical solving to resolve problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as the need arises. May perform equipment modifications as advised by engineers. Works on Fab Equipment.
