Job Description

As a Senior Product Data Analyst, you will serve as the sole analytics partner embedded within a product team, owning the full lifecycle of product data from instrumentation through insights. You will directly influence product decisions and student outcomes by translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive measurable impact.
What You'll Do
  • Own end-to-end product analytics, including instrumentation, telemetry setup, data validation, and reporting
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to define metrics, success criteria, and experimentation frameworks
  • Design and implement tracking strategies using tools such as Pendo, Adobe Analytics, CJA, Google Analytics, or comparable platforms
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI to inform decision-making
  • Translate business questions into data requirements, analyses, and insights that guide product roadmap and strategy
  • Proactively identify gaps in data, access, or visibility and broker solutions across teams without relying on escalation
  • Lead analysis across the full product development lifecycle, from problem definition through design, release, and post-launch measurement
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in product or data analytics within mid-sized or enterprise environments
  • Experience implementing instrumentation and telemetry, not just consuming reports
  • Hands-on experience with multiple analytics tools such as Pendo, Adobe Analytics, CJA, Google Analytics, or similar
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI and advanced Excel capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work independently in a team-of-one environment while proactively collaborating across teams
Bonus Points
  • Experience working in fintech, healthcare technology, or similarly complex, regulated industries
  • Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional data access and decision-making without formal authority
  • Experience supporting product teams through full SDLC cycles with measurable outcomes
What to Expect
At WGU, our mission drives everything we do, including how we hire. Our interview experience is designed to give qualified candidates the opportunity to show their best work through meaningful conversations and collaboration.
We thoughtfully review every application and invite forward the candidates whose experience and potential best align with the role and our mission.
  • Introductory call (30 minutes)
  • Panel interview (1 hour)
  • Hiring manager interview (30 minutes)
Work Location
This is a full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week in our Salt Lake City, UT office, designed to foster the collaboration and connection that fuel our best work.
Visa Sponsorship
While we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, WGU is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
