Job description

Senior CRM Specialist | Tripadvisor

About Tripadvisor

The Tripadvisor Group connects people to experiences worth sharing, and aims to be the world's most trusted source for travel and experiences. We leverage our brands, technology, and capabilities to connect our global audience with partners through rich content, travel guidance, and two-sided marketplaces for experiences, accommodations, restaurants, and other travel categories. The subsidiaries of Tripadvisor, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRIP), include a portfolio of travel brands and businesses, including Tripadvisor, Viator, and TheFork.

Tripadvisor seeks a dynamic and motivated Senior CRM Specialist to drive the strategy, creation, and planning of comprehensive lifecycle communication campaigns. In this role, you will act as a strategic generalist across the user journey, balancing creative campaign ideation with sharp operational alignment. You will serve as the critical bridge between our CRM Operations, Engineering, and brand marketing teams, and flex across lifecycle programs - from inspiration to retention to transactional messaging - as business needs evolve.

Job Location: Remote East Coast, United States

This role is a remote position in the US. Occasional travel to company offices as necessary.

What You'll Do

  • Campaign & Lifecycle Planning: Own the planning pipeline for multi-channel CRM. This includes building and maintaining the integrated marketing calendar (Email & Push) and writing comprehensive creative briefs that align with overall user lifecycle strategies.

  • Campaign Architecture & Specification: Translate high-level marketing goals and business requirements into clear, detailed technical specifications for the CRM Operations and Engineering teams. Own the end-to-end handoff process to ensure technical builds are flawless.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner deeply with Content and Brand teams to shape engaging, relevant messaging, while simultaneously collaborating with Operations and Engineering to map out data pipelines, behavioral triggers, and deployment logic.

  • Segmentation & Personalization Strategy: Define customer segmentation and dynamic data requirements, ensuring messaging is highly relevant, targeted, and tailored to specific user behaviors and lifecycle stages. Evaluate and apply AI-driven personalization and segmentation tools where they improve targeting precision.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor and report on the performance of campaigns within your lifecycle programs, using AI-assisted analysis tools to speed up reporting and surface trends. Partner with the team's analytics/insights function on deeper statistical analysis and team-wide testing standards.

  • Testing & Optimization: Design A/B and multivariate tests (layouts, copy, frequency, audience segments) for your own campaigns, defining parameters for the operations team to execute, and incorporating AI-assisted tools for test design or results synthesis where useful.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively with a global-first mindset
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, or campaign management (Travel, ecommerce, or Marketplace experience is a strong plus).
  • Technical Translation Skills: Proven experience working alongside marketing operations or engineering teams. Strong ability to write technical requirements, understand data workflows, and articulate business logic to technical stakeholders.
  • Platform Familiarity: Strong understanding of enterprise-level CRM tools and platforms capabilities. Braze is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable interpreting campaign data to extract actionable insights and report on business impact.
  • AI Fluency: Comfortable incorporating AI tools into daily workflow - e.g., for content ideation, campaign briefing, data synthesis, or testing analysis - and staying current on new tools relevant to CRM/lifecycle marketing.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation packages (routinely benchmarked against the latest industry data), including base salary and annual bonuses
  • "Work your way" with flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Tripadvisor Group takes a remote-friendly approach to collaboration across a worldwide team, with the option to join on-site as often as you'd like or as required by your team.
  • Flexible schedule. Work-life balance is ingrained in our culture by design. Trust and accountability make it work.
  • Donation matching. Give back? Give more! We match qualifying charitable donations annually.
  • Tuition assistance. Want to level up your career? We love to hear it! Receive annual support for qualified programs.

  • Health benefits. We offer great coverage and competitive premiums.
  • Generous referral scheme. Help us grow and be rewarded with generous awards for referring successful candidates.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
