Job description

PKWARE is seeking a strategic and hands-on Manager of Security Operations & Information Systems to lead the company's cybersecurity operations, enterprise IT infrastructure, and security engineering functions. This leader will be responsible for protecting PKWARE's corporate environment, cloud platforms, customer-facing systems, and information assets while ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment that supports business growth.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing cyber risk with executive leadership, directing incident response activities, leading security operations and governance initiatives, and managing enterprise IT systems and teams.

As a member of the technology leadership team, this role will drive cyber resilience, operational excellence, compliance readiness, and continuous improvement across PKWARE's global technology environment.

Key Responsibilities: Security Operations Leadership
  • Maintain and execute PKWARE's Security Operations strategy and roadmap. Lead SOC activities, threat detection, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and incident response. Direct cybersecurity response efforts, conduct post-incident reviews, and define security metrics.
Information Security Program Management
  • Partner with Legal and Engineering teams in completing customer and vendor assessments. Support SOC 2 initiatives, risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Information Systems & Enterprise IT Leadership
  • Lead enterprise IT operations including infrastructure, cloud environments, identity and access management, end-user computing, collaboration platforms, and network management. Ensure reliability, disaster recovery, and service delivery.
Cloud & Infrastructure Security
  • Secure cloud and SaaS platforms. Partner with DevOps and Engineering on secure architecture, identity governance, automation, monitoring, and Zero Trust initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing Security Operations and IT teams. Oversee budgets, vendors, succession planning, and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity, information security, or IT leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical teams, including security operations, infrastructure, or enterprise IT functions.
  • Hands-on experience with incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, network security, and cloud security.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure security, identity management, and cloud security operations.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, SaaS environments, and business-critical IT systems.
  • Experience supporting risk management, compliance readiness, customer security assessments, and executive-level security communications.
  • Ability to translate technical security risks into business impact and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

This is a hybrid role based in Milwaukee, WI. Candidates must be located in the Milwaukee area and able to work regularly from our Milwaukee office.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP, CRISC, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience working in SaaS organizations or technology companies with customer-facing security requirements.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and secure software development environments.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar security and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience leading or collaborating with distributed or global teams.
