Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday | 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable Overnight Unarmed Security Officer to provide consistent security coverage in Fort Collins. This position is responsible for monitoring assigned areas, completing routine property checks, controlling access when required, and reporting conditions that could affect the safety or security of the location.
The successful candidate should be dependable, observant, and comfortable working overnight with limited supervision. The role requires professional communication, accurate documentation, and the ability to respond appropriately when an unexpected situation occurs.
Patrol & Property Monitoring
  • Perform scheduled interior and exterior rounds throughout the assigned property.
  • Check buildings, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding grounds for unusual conditions.
  • Maintain awareness of activity occurring throughout assigned areas.
  • Identify suspicious behavior, property damage, safety hazards, or unsecured locations.
  • Maintain a visible presence while completing assigned security rounds.
  • Follow established patrol routes, schedules, and post instructions.
  • Report maintenance or security concerns to the appropriate contact.

Access Control & Site Awareness
  • Monitor designated entrances, exits, and controlled access points.
  • Verify authorized individuals, visitors, or contractors when required by site procedures.
  • Observe activity around access points and report irregularities.
  • Follow established visitor and access-control procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining orderly movement through designated areas.
  • Protect access information and follow all applicable security procedures.

Incident Response
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and other security concerns according to established procedures.
  • Assess situations carefully and determine when additional assistance is necessary.
  • Notify supervisors and designated contacts of significant incidents.
  • Contact emergency responders when circumstances warrant immediate assistance.
  • Maintain a calm and professional approach during stressful situations.
  • Follow emergency procedures, post orders, and company requirements.

Reporting & Communication
  • Complete daily activity reports and patrol documentation accurately.
  • Prepare incident reports when unusual or security-related events occur.
  • Record relevant observations, access issues, alarms, and other noteworthy conditions.
  • Communicate important information to supervisors and designated client contacts.
  • Provide clear information during shift changes or supervisor check-ins.
  • Use assigned reporting systems and equipment responsibly.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
  • Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused throughout a 12-hour overnight shift.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, post orders, and established procedures.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and perform routine inspections for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, or related experience.
  • Experience performing foot patrols or property inspections.
  • Familiarity with incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Experience using mobile applications or electronic reporting systems.
  • Ability to recognize developing security concerns and respond appropriately.
  • Previous experience working independently during overnight shifts.
