Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Project Manager to our team in Buffalo, NY.  The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and closing life safety system projects while ensuring safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role oversees projects from contract award through final completion, managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field personnel, and customer communication. The Project Manager ensures all work complies with applicable codes, company standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple life safety projects simultaneously, including fire sprinkler, fire special hazards, inspection, and service-related installations as applicable.
  • Review project contracts, specifications, drawings, and scope to ensure a complete understanding of project requirements.
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project milestones.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, material costs, and overall financial performance.
  • Forecast project costs, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain profitability.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings with internal teams and customers.
  • Coordinate with engineering, estimating, purchasing, fabrication, field operations, and service departments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, owners, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Process and negotiate change orders while documenting scope modifications.
  • Manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
  • Review and approve project billings, invoices, and closeout documentation.
  • Monitor project progress through site visits and regular communication with field supervisors.
  • Ensure projects comply with NFPA standards, local building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, schedule conflicts, and customer concerns.
  • Prepare project status reports and communicate updates to leadership.
  • Complete project closeout, including as-built documentation, warranties, training, final inspections, and turnover packages.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • 3-7+ years of project management experience in construction, mechanical contracting, design or life safety systems.
  • Experience managing fire sprinkler, suppression, or related building systems projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, and construction safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET certification or willingness to obtain.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and project management platforms such as Viewpoint Vista, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or Bluebeam Revu.

Hourly Wage Range: $20-$40 dependent on experience
