Job description

Job Description

What's the opportunity?

We're looking for a Technical Program Manager who will drive delivery execution for agentic AI engineering squads shipping production-grade solutions across RBC. You'll own sprint planning, velocity tracking, dependency management, and delivery reporting for concurrent squads, keeping engineers focused on building while you handle the operational rhythm around them.

You'll be joining the Agentic AI Enablement team, within the AI Group, a forward-deployed engineering force that embeds into strategic use cases across Lines of Business. You'll report to the Delivery Lead and operate across one or more delivery squads depending on engagement intensity. This is a technically complex, fast-paced environment where squads form per engagement, deliver, and dissolve. You need to be operationally sharp, comfortable with ambiguity, and fluent enough in technical delivery to spot risks early and drive resolution.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Operationalizing engineering-informed effort estimates into sprint plans, milestones, and delivery roadmaps

  • Owning delivery execution for assigned squads: sprint planning, velocity tracking, ceremonies, and progress reporting

  • Tracking delivery against committed timelines and surfacing risks, blockers, and timeline threats early

  • Managing cross-squad dependencies and coordinating with other TPMs and engineering leads when work intersects

  • Maintaining JIRA hygiene, sprint analytics, and delivery dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into squad health

  • Driving blocker resolution across squads, teams, and organizational boundaries (security, compliance, platform)

  • Supporting continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics analysis, and process iteration

  • Ensuring delivery traceability from sprint plan through completion for audit and reporting purposes

You're our ideal candidate if you have:

  • 5+ years in technical program management, scrum mastery, or delivery management roles within software engineering or AI/ML environments

  • Experience driving delivery for multiple concurrent workstreams in complex, technically-driven organizations

  • Deep hands-on proficiency with delivery tooling (JIRA, sprint analytics, dashboards, automation)

  • Strong understanding of agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, hybrid) with the judgment to adapt frameworks to context

  • Ability to operate effectively in technically complex domains without being the engineer in the room

  • Strong instinct for risk identification, dependency tracking, and escalation management

  • Experience in regulated industries (banking/financial services preferred) with comfort navigating governance requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate delivery status into crisp updates for technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have:

  • Background in professional services or consulting delivery models where teams form and dissolve per engagement

  • Experience with AI/ML or agentic AI solution delivery

  • PMP, SAFe, or Scrum Master certifications

  • Experience working in pod-based engineering organizations with variable squad sizing

What's in it for you?

  • Drive delivery for one of RBC's most strategic AI investments

  • Work alongside Principal Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers on cutting-edge agentic AI

  • Contribute to high-visibility, high-value business initiatives across the enterprise

  • Leaders who support your development through mentoring and career growth opportunities

  • Comprehensive Total Rewards Program including competitive compensation, bonuses, flexible benefits, and stock options where applicable
