Description
General Responsibilities:
  • Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, performs a variety of duties as dictated by operational requirements including the handling of incoming, outgoing and parked aircraft following established practices and procedures.

Major Responsibilities and Functions:
  • Maintains pertinent records and renders assistance when required.
  • Records all landings for landing fee billing, monitors operations and radios, etc.
  • Responds to all alerts.
  • Operates irregular operations equipment, emergency equipment and able to assist with rescue work.
  • Relays airfield advisories, notifications, and other information as needed to satisfy the needs of airport users and tenants.
  • Maintains working environment and equipment in clean, neat and orderly manner. To include tire pressure, oil level, operational readiness, etc.
  • Represents airport management on a 24-hour basis to include answering the 24-hour operations duty phone.
  • Performs safety and security checks on airfield.
  • Monitors and coordinates construction projects.
  • Monitors and maintains compliance with airport security program.
  • Assists the public as necessary.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and improvements to company sponsored occupational safety and health committees, OSHA regulatory programs, driver training programs and/or any other related committee designed for improvements in the workplace.
  • Assists maintenance staff with projects such as, grass cutting, pavement repairs, and airfield lighting repairs

Requirements
  • High School diploma or the equivalent; four-year degree in aviation management, operations management, business administration, public administration or a related field preferred.
  • Two years in airport operations, or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact and represent the company with airport tenants, state and federal authorities, and other organizations on a professional level.
  • Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other TBI employees, airline employees and federal/state agency personnel.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, software and hardware.

Physical Effort:
  • While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activities. The employee is regularly required to climb, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Mental Effort:
  • The operations Coordinator works in an airport environment with interpersonal interaction with people of varying levels of sophistication. The workday may be subject to frequent interruptions and distractions. Therefore, the ability to manage conflicting priorities and associated stress is critical to position success. Stress associated with responding to/solving issues, inquiries and/or complaints from employees, passengers, airport tenants and regulatory agencies. Operations are dynamic and situations may require immediate attention. This position has high exposure to the public and requires a professional approach and demeanor under all conditions. It also requires a genuine willingness to assist persons with a wide range of requests and needs, including individuals with disabilities.
