GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.
 
We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.

The Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the physical security strategy for GTI's New York operations, including facilities located in Buffalo, NY. This leader will oversee site security personnel, security contractors, access control systems, surveillance technology, investigations, emergency response planning, and overall facility security compliance.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or critical infrastructure environments and has demonstrated success managing multi-site security operations. This individual will work cross-functionally with Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Information Technology, and Executive Leadership to identify security risks, mitigate threats, and ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Security Leadership

  • Lead all physical security operations across GTI's Arizona facilities in Phoenix, Goodyear, and Tempe.
  • Develop and execute company-wide security policies, procedures, and site standards.
  • Ensure consistent security practices across multiple manufacturing campuses.
  • Evaluate security risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct routine security assessments and vulnerability analyses.

Personnel Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop onsite security teams and third-party security providers.
  • Establish staffing schedules and ensure appropriate security coverage across all shifts.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and ongoing development of security personnel.
  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service throughout the security organization.

Access Control & Surveillance

  • Oversee badge access systems, visitor management processes, CCTV systems, alarms, and perimeter security.
  • Ensure proper authorization procedures for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
  • Partner with Facilities and IT to maintain security technology and system functionality.
  • Review surveillance footage and investigate security-related incidents when necessary.

Investigations & Incident Response

  • Lead investigations involving theft, workplace violence, vandalism, policy violations, or other security concerns.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports with documented findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when required.
  • Maintain evidence and documentation in accordance with company policies.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for all Arizona facilities.
  • Coordinate emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and crisis management activities.
  • Serve as the primary security leader during emergency situations.
  • Partner with EHS leadership to support business continuity planning.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local security regulations.
  • Maintain security records, incident logs, and audit documentation.
  • Recommend improvements based on trends, security metrics, and incident data.
  • Support insurance inspections, customer audits, and facility security assessments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee investigations and workplace concerns.
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership to balance production efficiency with facility security.
  • Work closely with Facilities and Maintenance on building security improvements.
  • Coordinate with Information Technology regarding physical security systems and cybersecurity-related physical controls.
  • Support executive leadership with security planning for visitors, customers, and special events.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10–15 years of Security Manager experience (Required).
  • Experience managing security operations across multiple facilities or campuses.
  • Previous leadership experience supervising security officers and contract security teams.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems, CCTV, access control, alarms, and visitor management systems.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and preparing investigative reports.
  • Knowledge of emergency response planning and incident command procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze security risks and implement preventative solutions.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and security management software.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License with the ability to travel regularly between GTI facilities

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or ASIS certifications are highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, energy, construction, or critical infrastructure operations.
  • Experience managing contract security providers.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace violence prevention, and business continuity planning.
  • Experience with enterprise access control platforms, surveillance systems, and integrated security technologies.
