Job description

 SOC Shift Lead

Shift: 6:30am-3:00pm, M-F

Pay: $26/hr

Position Summary

The SOC Shift Lead (day shift) is responsible for full utilization of logistics safety and security platforms, leveraging AI monitoring capabilities, lead daily operations within the Garda Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring the continuous monitoring and protection of transportation logistics across the United States in a 24/7/365 environment. This role provides real-time oversight of over-the-road (OTR) and air freight operations through the Samsara platform, proactively identifying, assessing, and escalating security and operational incidents to minimize risk and ensure the safe movement of assets. The SOC Shift Lead serves as the primary point of contact during their assigned shift, providing leadership, operational guidance, and support to SOC Analysts while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and service level expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the Samsara platform during assigned shifts in a 24/7/365 Security Operations Center.

Continuously monitor transportation logistics utilizing the Samsara platform to ensure the safe and secure movement of OTR and air freight operations.

Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts, exceptions, and security incidents.

Escalate critical incidents to leadership, branch management, and appropriate stakeholders in accordance with established escalation procedures.

Coordinate emergency response efforts involving vehicle crashes, route deviations, security threats, thefts, cargo integrity concerns, and other transportation-related incidents.

Monitor route compliance, geofence violations, unauthorized stops, and other operational anomalies.

Ensure accurate documentation of all incidents within the incident management system.

Provide guidance, coaching, and operational support to SOC Analysts throughout the shift.

Ensure shift turnover is completed with detailed pass-downs of active incidents and ongoing investigations.

Maintain situational awareness of active transportation operations while identifying opportunities to reduce operational risk.

Utilize surveillance systems, GPS technology, communications platforms, and other security technologies to support investigations and operational decision-making.

Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs, customer service expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Assist with training and onboarding of new SOC personnel.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process improvements and technology enhancements.

Skills & Qualifications

· High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

· 1–2+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), logistics monitoring, fleet management, driver safety, or related field

· Experience with telematics systems (Samsara preferred), fleet management platforms, and case management systems

· Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify risk patterns

· Excellent communication skills to coordinate with field teams and leadership

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, real-time operational environment

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, O365) and data reporting tools

· Experience in supply chain risk management, logistics security, or logistics safety preferred
