Job description

Job Title: Unarmed Security Officer
Location: Joliet, IL
Job Type: Part time (Possible Full-time availability)
Schedule: Overnight shift - Monday through Friday
Salary: $19.00-$20.00 An Hour
We are seeking a vigilant and reliable individual to join our team as an Unarmed Security Officer. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and security of our client's premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong observational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capability to handle potentially stressful situations with professionalism and composure.
Responsibilities:
  • Patrol assigned areas regularly to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any suspicious behavior or security breaches.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the premises to ensure all doors, windows, and access points are secure.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance or emergencies, such as medical incidents, disturbances, or accidents.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports detailing security incidents, disturbances, and any other noteworthy activities that occur during shifts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and clients with inquiries, directions, and other needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders when necessary.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to uphold security standards and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and relevant laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

  • Proven experience as a security officer or guard
  • 20-hour state certification and PERC Card (REQUIRED)
  • Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
  • Familiarity with report writing
