Job Description: SECURITY DISPATCHER Experienced Dispatch & Communications Professionals Company: Blackwater Public SafetyLocation: Azusa, CaliforniaEmployment Type: Full-TimeDepartment: Operations / Communications Center POSITION OVERVIEW Blackwater Public Safety is seeking an experienced and highly dependable Security Dispatcher to join our Operations and Communications Center. The Security Dispatcher serves as the central communications point between Blackwater Public Safety's field personnel, supervisors, clients, residents, law enforcement, fire/EMS, and other emergency service providers. This is a fast-paced communications and operations position requiring the ability to monitor multiple systems, answer incoming calls, communicate over radio, dispatch field personnel, document incidents, monitor officer activity, and make sound decisions—often while handling multiple events simultaneously. THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL SECURITY POSITION. IMPORTANT: These are mandatory pre-screening questions. This position requires prior professional dispatch, communications, or high-volume call center experience. Applicants who do not meet the minimum experience requirements may not be considered for an interview. Please provide specific and accurate information in your responses. Blackwater Public Safety is strongly seeking applicants with previous professional dispatch, public safety communications, security dispatch, alarm monitoring, logistics dispatch, transportation dispatch, or high-volume call center experience. Candidates whose experience consists primarily of unarmed or armed security patrol without prior dispatch or high-volume communications experience may not be considered for this position. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. DISPATCH & COMMUNICATIONSDispatch security officers to routine, priority, and emergency calls for service.Monitor radio communications and maintain professional radio discipline.Track officer status, availability, and locations throughout the shift.Coordinate responses between field personnel and supervisors.Prioritize calls based on urgency, officer availability, and operational requirements.Relay information accurately, clearly, and efficiently.Maintain continuous communication during active incidents.Recognize when incidents require escalation to a supervisor or emergency services. 2. INCOMING CALLS & CUSTOMER SERVICEAnswer incoming emergency and non-emergency telephone calls.Determine the nature and urgency of each call.Obtain accurate information from callers.Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, clients, officers, vendors, and members of the public.Handle difficult, upset, or demanding callers while maintaining professionalism.Determine the appropriate response and communicate information to the appropriate personnel.Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. 3. TECHNOLOGY & COMPUTER OPERATIONS The Security Dispatcher will be expected to operate multiple computer systems simultaneously, including security, dispatch, communications, scheduling, reporting, and surveillance platforms.
