Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide the most responsive, knowledgeable, and courteous service by protecting not only the property, but also the safety of the guests and team members through observing, reporting, and taking action.
  • Provide direction for the day to day operation of the Security team and be a liaison of information from executives to officers, or vice versa.
  • Effectively manage and solve any internal department issues that arise and provide solutions following department and GSR standards and policies.
  • Identify security and safety issues or concerns around the property and provide integrative solutions to create a safer environment.
  • Delegate projects, reports, investigations, etc. accordingly to security staff.
  • Review officer reports and ensure all pertinent information is included before closing the report.
  • Document positive performance as well as disciplinary actions done by officers following departmental and company policies.
  • Conduct daily shift briefings, communicate information, and address comments to officers.
  • Prepare daily Activity Log containing information of significant incidents that occurred on shift.
  • Be observant in all areas inside/outside of the property, suspicious circumstances, or suspicious persons.
  • Conduct Training courses to ensure officers are current on security tactics and departmental procedures.
  • Use good judgment, reason, caution, and a calm demeanor when approaching a disgruntled individual or difficult situation. In the event of a confrontation, obtain all necessary information to make an informed decision that provides an effective solution to the issue.
  • Complete investigations and subsequent reports by asking questions pertinent to the situation such as; who, what, where why, how, etc. in order to gather sufficient details to thoroughly satisfy the investigation/report requirements. Use a computer report writing system to complete reports and be able to follow through/up on any given report.
  • Make constant contact with both guests and team members to provide optimal service and obtain feedback. This includes contact with various hotel departments or outside agencies in an effort to provide/obtain pertinent information needed for guest service, investigations, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and situations that occur.
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to accurately document security incidents.
  • A high-level understanding of interpersonal skills to deal productively with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and the ability to identify anomalies in daily operations.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from GSR managers, staff, clients, and the general public.
  • Good communications skills and professionalism are required when dealing and cooperating with other GSR departments and outside agencies such as Police Officials, Medical Personnel, Fire Department, FBI, Secret Service and Governmental Officials.
  • Work with interruptions and to perform multiple tasks while remaining collected in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability of simple math, and complex reading, writing, and task completion skills is required.
  • Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, supervising, instructing, driving, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience of in-depth comprehensive knowledge in security, investigations, law enforcement, self-awareness training techniques, and risk management is preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Prior law enforcement experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License & Alcohol Awareness card.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and must produce acceptable driving record per GSR SOP from DMV annually to present to management to remain in position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be constantly standing, walking, occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, climbing and frequently balancing during the duration of their shift.
  • Dependent on the assignment of the designated shift the team member must be able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 25lbs or less frequently or up to 100lbs occasionally.
  • Dependent on the assignment of the designated shift the team member may be frequently driving.
  • The team member will constantly have repetitive use of both feet and hands and require frequent light and occasional firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be occasionally required.
  • Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work performed frequently indoors and outdoors alone or with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment and other electrical devices.
  • Team Member may be exposed to confined areas, extreme heat or cold, wet and/or humid areas, dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, and slippery surfaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Team Member may be exposed to vibrations, fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
