As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our guests, team members, and resort properties. This position is a unique blend of traditional security responsibilities and resort hospitality service. In addition to protecting company assets and responding to emergencies, you are expected to provide a welcoming and helpful presence, delivering excellent service to our guests and team members at all times.

Security Officers are responsible for monitoring resort property, managing access points, and responding to incidents involving police, fire, or medical emergencies. This role includes conducting safety inspections, writing detailed incident reports, assisting guests and team members with security-related concerns, and supporting public safety personnel as needed. A successful Security Officer demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and strong hospitality skills while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

As a Security Officer, you will: 

  • Serve as the first responder to incidents involving police, fire, or medical emergencies, and take appropriate action within the scope of Security Officer duties.
  • Maintain a visible, uniformed security presence at assigned locations.
  • Control access at designated entry and exit points.
  • Monitor security systems, including fire alarm panels, surveillance cameras, and proprietary monitoring stations, in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Conduct safety and security inspections in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and checklists of security activities.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely incident reports; utilize computer systems and email communications as needed.
  • Respond to basic service requests and perform preventive maintenance on guest room electronic security systems and in-room safes, when applicable.
  • Manage lost and found inventory in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform traffic control and parking enforcement duties as required.
  • Respond to security-related complaints and resolve or escalate appropriately.
  • Assist public safety officers as needed or requested.
  • Manage key control, distribution, and accountability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems used for reports, logs, and email communication.
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
  • Physical stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods, climb stairs, and move quickly for short distances as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Prior guest service experience strongly preferred.
