Schedule: Full-time, 24/7 shifts + 6:30am-2:30pm, 2:30pm-10:30pm, & 10:30pm-6:30am, security works weekends & holidays.

  • Knows Emergency Equipment Placement.
  • Trained in Fire Prevention Skills.
  • Familiar with Hazardous Materials in a healthcare setting.

Job Assignment and Post Orders:
  • Knows and understands all Code calls in relation to emergency assistance and Plain Language Codes.
  • Assure security calls are answered in an appropriate period of time.
  • Provide proper notification of events to Director, Manager, Nursing Supervisor on second and third shifts and weekends as well as switchboard and dispatchers.
  • Enunciate call out procedures for call offs, emergencies or disasters.
  • Must be capable of interacting with other Hospital Departments and employees within the patient care environment.
  • Maintain security patrols (foot and vehicle) of Memorial Medical Center campus.
  • Responsible for ensuring standard rotation of Security Officers to assigned areas as set forth in security rotation policy.
  • Ability to perform work on various shifts, on call and call-in basis as deemed necessary.
  • Maintains appropriate commitment to department in terms of attendance, hours of work, required education and training of new employees.
  • Enhance public/employee relations.

Respond and assist as needed at the MMC helipad with incoming/outgoing flights.
Practices Security Awareness:
  • Challenging of persons found in restricted areas.
  • Challenging of persons departing MMC with undocumented MMC property.
  • Enforcement of hospital parking and traffic rules and regulations.
  • Adherence to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code.
  • Maintain open and lock procedures for all areas of Memorial Medical Center.
  • Completes departmental records as required.
  • Incident report writing and responding.
  • Review of security incidents for approval
  • Input of daily man-hours and coordination of reports
  • Attend in-service training and other meetings as required (five per year).
  • Provide minor emergency maintenance as required.
  • Assure proper operation of garage equipment such as gates, token machine and dispensers.
  • Visitor control.
  • Visitor assistance.
  • Coordinate the retrieval of Valet vehicles for customers after hours.
  • Maintain lost and found request.
  • Provide control of violent patients.
  • Maintain patient items from violent patients.
  • Maintain/enforce the Patient Prisoner Policy.
  • Emergency disabled vehicle assistance.
  • Monitor and maintain security vehicles for inspection, safety checks, cleanliness and appropriate fluids levels.
  • Perform Screening Tests.
  • Breath alcohol test.
  • Single urine specimen collection procedure.
  • Split urine specimen collection procedure.

What we're looking for
