How much do security guards make?

The average security guard earns around $12 to $20 per hour, with annual salaries typically ranging from $25,000 to $45,000 depending on experience, location, and employer. Security guards working in specialized environments or with additional certifications may earn higher wages. Salaries can also vary based on shift hours and the level of responsibility involved.

What are the three types of security guards?

Security guards can be classified into three main types: unarmed guards, who do not carry weapons; armed guards, who are equipped with firearms; and specialized guards, such as those trained for specific environments like industrial sites or executive protection. The type of guard required depends on the security needs of the location or client.

What is the job role of a security guard?

They often use surveillance equipment and may hold certifications such as a security license. Their duties include preventing theft, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a safe environment.

Which security guard job pays the most?

Security guard positions in specialized areas such as executive protection, cybersecurity, or security management tend to offer the highest salaries. Roles requiring advanced certifications, experience, or working for high-profile clients generally pay more than standard security guard jobs. Management or supervisory security roles also typically have higher pay scales.
