Job description

Fire Life Safety Director Certification required

The Director of Security is responsible for overseeing daily security operations, including staffing, scheduling, payroll administration, client relations, security systems, and team performance. This role ensures a safe, professional environment while maintaining operational efficiency and exceptional customer service.

Detailed Duties/Responsibilities:

• Administer the day to day operation of the Security Department

• Manage all Supervisors, Lead Officers and security staff

• Review, edit and approve Incident Reports

• Review and approve Pass down Briefing Checklists and Daily Activity Reports

• Review all other logs, equipment inventory records, lost and found, memos, and security alerts

• Assist with CCTV as needed

• Coordinate and review dispatch changes with Shift Supervisors

• Review and approve all shift schedule changes

• Review all Sign-In/Out payroll entries and audit each Employee's hours for accuracy

• Input weekly payroll for all supervisors and security officers

• Electronically transfer weekly payroll hours into the payroll system and print back-up Payroll printout

• Formulate extra coverage invoices and other manual requests for billing special security services

• Formulate security services invoices and billing for Jay Paul Company

• Perform and administer other payroll and billing administrative duties

• Interact with Property Managers and other Department Heads

• Interact with building tenants and coordinate with their management, as needed

• Handle all uniform issues, i.e.: ordering, inventory, equipment, supplies, and overseeing laundry services/vendors, etc.

• Review and approve all evaluations for Security Officers

• Maintain all equipment necessary to effectively operate the Office and Posts

• Generate a monthly and year-to-date statistical report on reported incidents

• Formulates Security Alerts • Responsible as Liaison for the CCTV system

• Responsible as Liaison for the Security radio system

• Acknowledge Employee Access Requests, Temporary Access Requests and Visitor Access Requests as required

• Process requests that come via e-mail and maintain record database

• Provide Building Access & Identification Badges for Building Operations staff, tenants, vendors, contractors, etc.

• Schedule, and handle processing I.D. Badge photos, create photo ID badges, verify access privileges, and input access levels in the system. Proof detail twice

• Assist Property Management in creating Badging Administrators to manage tenants, vendor and contractor access.

• Coordinate Access Control system support and repairs with Chief Engineer and Vendor representative.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of scheduling, payroll, and security operations.

• Experience with access control and CCTV systems preferred.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software..

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least two years related experience required.

• Previous supervisory or security management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
