Job Summary:
Nightwing is a company that provides advanced cyber, data operations, and intelligence mission support services. They are seeking a Principal Software Engineer specialized in Elastic to enhance and maintain an Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) instance, focusing on data onboarding, content development, and system integration.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Building data pipelines to ingest external datasets into Elastic products.
โ€ข Designing, building, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing the Elastic Logstash Kibana (ELK) platform.
โ€ข Installing and configuring ELK.
โ€ข Using Elastic search Indices, Elastic search APIs, Kibana Dashboards, Log Stash and Beats.
โ€ข Using or creating plug-ins for ELK like authentication and authorization plug-ins.
โ€ข Integrating ELK with enterprise tools and APIs, such as for authentication and authorization.
โ€ข Designing and implementing complex development use cases and scenarios using programming language, such as Python, Groovy, and Bash.
โ€ข Using Elastic Search Cluster Monitoring Tools.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship
โ€ข Active Secret (S) clearance. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
โ€ข Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
โ€ข 6+ years of directly relevant software development experience required.
โ€ข At least 2 years of experience as an Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) admin or equivalent role.
โ€ข At least 2 years of experience with Elasticsearch Domain Specific Language (DSL).
โ€ข At least 5 years of experience with Kubernetes architecture.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of ELK stack.
โ€ข Knowledge of scripting languages, such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc.
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience working in an agile environment.
โ€ข Experience supporting federal customers.
โ€ข DoD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) certification highly desired
โ€ข Agile software development methodology certification (e.g. SCRUM Master) highly desired.
โ€ข Has achieved an Elastic certification, such as: Elastic Certified Engineer, Elastic Certified Analyst, or Elastic Certified Observable Engineer
