The Difference You Make:

The Residential Mortgage Finance Associate will be a key member of the Residential Mortgage Finance team within the Securitized Products Group (SPG), supporting the origination, analysis, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management of financing solutions for mortgage-related clients.

The role will focus on residential mortgage finance activities, including residential mortgage loan financing, mortgage servicing rights financing, and related credit products. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with credit, collateral, and transaction execution experience, as well as an understanding of residential mortgage lending, mortgage company finance, and related risk considerations.

  • Analyze residential mortgage collateral, loan tapes, review collateral eligibility, concentration limits, track performance triggers and monitor portfolio performance trends

  • Review underwriting guidelines of prospective clients to evaluate their various origination programs
  • Review client financial statements, liquidity, leverage, profitability, origination volumes, servicing portfolio performance, and operating metrics
  • Support underwriting, structuring, approval, and ongoing management of residential mortgage financing arrangements
  • Prepare internal credit memoranda, transaction summaries, client presentations, portfolio reviews, and approval materials
  • Assist with due diligence on mortgage originators, servicers, aggregators, and other residential mortgage finance clients
  • Evaluate residential mortgage loan performance, including delinquencies, prepayments, defaults, repurchases, early payment defaults, and servicing-related metrics
  • Monitor borrowing collateral, covenant compliance, margining, and facility utilization
  • Coordinate with internal teams, and the various lines of defense including Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, Finance, and Audit
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including clients, legal counsel, document custodians, valuation providers, and third-party diligence firms
  • Review transaction documentation, including credit agreements, security agreements, custodial agreements
  • Monitor residential mortgage market trends, agency and non-agency lending developments, interest rate trends, origination volumes, servicing valuations, and regulatory developments
  • Provide analytical support for new business opportunities and existing client relationships

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Advanced degree or relevant professional designation is additive


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential mortgage finance, mortgage warehouse lending, specialty finance, commercial banking, structured lending, mortgage banking, credit underwriting, or related financial services disciplines
  • Experience evaluating mortgage lenders, servicers, aggregators, mortgage collateral, warehouse facilities, MSR financing, or servicing advance facilities preferred
  • Familiarity with residential mortgage origination, servicing, collateral eligibility, agency guidelines, non-agency mortgage products, and mortgage industry risk factors preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience analyzing residential mortgage collateral, loan-level data, client financial statements, and borrowing base reporting
  • Understanding of residential mortgage lending, mortgage company finance, collateral valuation, warehouse lending mechanics, and secured credit facilities
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, collateral risk, and operational risk in residential mortgage finance
  • Strong financial modeling, credit analysis, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Familiarity with mortgage finance systems, loan tapes, custodial reporting, collateral reports, and mortgage data fields preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Maximum:

$225,000.00 USD
