Job description

Job Description acuCyber is hiring a Software Engineer to support a classified program. The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and sustain secure software applications and services supporting mission-critical systems. This position collaborates with systems engineers, cybersecurity personnel, database specialists, test engineers, and government stakeholders to translate operational and technical requirements into reliable, maintainable, and secure software solutions. The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and reviewing source code, troubleshooting software defects, supporting system and software integration, creating automated tests, and maintaining technical documentation. The engineer will participate in design and code reviews, configuration management, release planning, vulnerability remediation, and verification and validation activities throughout the software development lifecycle. The position will ensure software solutions comply with program requirements, coding standards, cybersecurity controls, approved architectures, and configuration baselines. Required Skills * Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems). Engineering degrees must be ABET accredited.
* 3-10+ years of professional experience with software engineering * Experience with applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting. * Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting. * Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
* Cybersecurity Workforce Level 1 or 2
* Active TS/SCI Clearance Desired Skills * Master's Degree * Experience developing software for DoD, Intelligence community or other national security programs
