Job Summary:

They are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead a full-stack product team focused on building next-generation financial and card issuance SaaS solutions, blending technical execution with team leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and contribute hands-on to a full-stack product team building secure financial and card issuance SaaS platforms.
• Architect and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions across frontend, backend APIs, data, and infrastructure.
• Partner closely with Product and UX within an empowered product team, owning discovery, technical direction, and delivery outcomes.
• Guide development of modern web applications using React and/or Angular alongside robust backend APIs and distributed services.
• Design solutions with architectural fluency across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Drive engineering excellence in security, reliability, scalability, and observability within a regulated financial environment.
• Establish best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Mentor and develop engineers through architecture reviews, pairing, feedback, and technical coaching.
• Ensure secure-by-design development aligned with PCI, EMV, and financial compliance standards.
• Integrate SaaS capabilities with secure financial and card production workflows across global manufacturing sites.
• Serve as the technical decision-maker and escalation point within the team.
• Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to translate card issuance needs into structured product requirements and scalable technical solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role within cloud-native SaaS environments.
• Proven success launching and scaling secure, high-availability platforms in regulated financial or enterprise environments.
• Strong full-stack expertise across modern web and distributed systems.
• Frontend: React and/or Angular.
• Backend: RESTful APIs, distributed systems, service-oriented architecture.
• Data: SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Deep experience with Azure cloud architecture, with working knowledge of AWS and GCP.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on in architecture, design, and development.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
• Experience operating within cross-functional product teams alongside Product and UX, influencing technical direction and delivery outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA.
Preferred:
• Experience in payments, fintech, card issuance, authentication, identity, or similar regulated domains is highly valued, including familiarity with standards such as PCI-DSS, EMV, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS architectures, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and integrating software platforms with hardware or secure manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Native fluency with modern AI-accelerated engineering practices, including tools such as GitHub Copilot Enterprise, Azure OpenAI, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude (including Claude Code), Cursor, and emerging agentic development frameworks. Experience leveraging AI for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, system design exploration, and embedding AI capabilities directly into SaaS products.
