Oakbrook Corporation is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to join our team at Berkshire Kensington, a 177-unit affordable senior living community in Waukesha, WI. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping residents, supporting community operations, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing programs. ResponsibilitiesAssist with all day-to-day property operations to support occupancy, resident satisfaction, and community successWelcome prospective residents, conduct apartment tours, explain community features, and guide applicants through the leasing processProcess applications, leases, renewals, move-ins, and move-outs in accordance with company policies and Fair Housing regulationsProvide exceptional customer service by responding to resident questions, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional mannerAssist with rent collection, security deposits, resident account inquiries, and delinquency follow-upMaintain accurate resident files and property recordsProcess annual recertifications and interim certifications for affordable housing programsVerify income, assets, and eligibility documentation to ensure program complianceWork closely with Compliance and Property Management teams to maintain LIHTC, Section 8, and other affordable housing requirementsPrepare weekly traffic, leasing, occupancy, and marketing reportsConduct market surveys and monitor local competition to support leasing and retention effortsAssist with resident events, community outreach, and marketing initiativesCoordinate with maintenance staff regarding work orders, unit turnovers, and property inspectionsPerform regular inspections of common areas, vacant apartments, and the overall community appearanceAssist with handling resident complaints, lease violations, and other property-related concernsSupport the Property Manager with staff training, administrative functions, and special projectsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrevious property management, leasing, housing, customer service, or administrative experience preferredAffordable housing experience strongly preferredStrong organizational, communication, and customer service skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detailExperience with property management software preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to perform property inspections and walk the community as neededWhy Oakbrook?At Oakbrook Corporation, we believe great communities start with great people.
