Job description

Cloud Engineer Piper Companies is seeking a full-time Cloud Engineer (with an active security clearance) to support a leading technology provider in enhancing how software is built and managed in the cloud. This hybrid role includes 2–3 remote workdays per week, with all on-site work conducted at a Fort Meade facility. The Cloud Engineer will use tools like Azure, Jenkins, GitLab, Kubernetes, and Docker to automate workflows, enhance security, and ensure smooth, reliable operations. Ideal candidates enjoy problem-solving, refining processes, and staying current with cloud best practices. Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer Include: • Improve DevSecOps tools, processes, and automation • Ensure deliverables meet quality, security, and user standards • Manage tasks independently and meet deadlines • Advise on cloud automation and tooling best practices • Implement industry standards and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines • Support Agile workflows using tools like Jira and Confluence Qualifications of the Cloud Engineer Include: • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field • 5+ years in DevSecOps, including CI/CD and cloud automation • 3+ years with Azure, Kubernetes, and cloud security • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Helm, Nexus • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams • Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban) • Preferred (not required): Azure/AWS certifications, and DoD Azure experience Compensation of the Cloud Engineer Includes: • Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 annually (based on experience and certifications) • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision; 401k, PTO, Holidays, and sick leave as required by law This job opens for applications on 9/17/2025.
