This is a hands-on entry-level role with strong mentorship, exposure to real-world defense and enterprise environments, and clear growth opportunities into mid-level SOC, threat hunting, or compliance roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM, EDR, endpoint protection, cloud security platforms, and other tools in support of continuous monitoring and SOC/NOC operations
  • Perform initial triage and investigation of security alerts; escalate validated incidents according to established playbooks and procedures
  • Support incident response activities, including documentation, evidence collection, basic containment, and coordination with senior analysts
  • Assist with vulnerability management, security assessments, and remediation tracking
  • Help maintain accurate incident tickets, operational documentation, and compliance-related records (NIST, CMMC, etc.)
  • Contribute to detection tuning, playbook improvements, and process refinement by identifying false positives and gaps
  • Collaborate with senior SecOps engineers, IT teams, and stakeholders in both commercial and mission-critical defense environments
  • Participate in 24/7 operational support as needed and continuously develop skills in threat detection, zero-trust principles, and security operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience, relevant certifications, or strong personal labs/projects)
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, help desk, network operations, or related technical roles (internships and hands-on labs count)
  • Foundational understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls) and Windows/Linux operating systems from a security perspective
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts (common attack types, phishing, malware, CIA triad, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, clear communication skills, and ability to follow documented procedures
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment and support operational coverage as needed
  • U.S. citizenship preferred (required for certain defense-related work); ability to obtain a security clearance is a strong plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, CySA+, or equivalent entry-level certification
  • Exposure to SIEM tools, EDR platforms, vulnerability scanners, or cloud security (AWS, Azure Government, GovCloud)
  • Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
  • Familiarity with zero-trust concepts, NIST frameworks, CMMC, or continuous monitoring practices
  • Interest in threat intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK, incident response, or SOC operations
  • Prior internship, lab, or project experience in cybersecurity or IT operations

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits
  • Hands-on experience supporting real SOC/NOC and continuous monitoring operations for defense and enterprise clients
  • Mentorship from experienced, cleared technologists and a clear career path in SecOps
  • Professional development support (certifications, training)
  • Mission-driven work protecting critical environments “Secure. Connect. Dominate.”
  • Collaborative, U.S.-based team culture with 24/7 operational excellence
