About this opportunity

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Secondary Marketing Analyst to join our capital markets team. This role is crucial for managing market execution to maximize profitability and mitigate risk.. The ideal candidate will be a fast-learner who can work independently and add value beyond daily tasks. You will work closely with our production, capital markets, and executive teams.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Pricing and Execution:

Monitor and analyze real-time market data, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and private investor pricing, to determine optimal loan pricing and product offerings.

Execute daily best-efforts and mandatory loan sales, pooling, and securitization activities.

Manage and monitor loan commitments, ensuring accurate pair-offs and timely delivery to investors.

Perform daily hedge reconciliations and ensure proper risk management strategies are in place.

• Risk and Pipeline Management:

Analyze the loan pipeline for interest rate risk and credit risk exposures.

Track and report on fallout and pull-through rates, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.

Model and forecast loan production and settlement activity to assist with liquidity planning.

• Reporting and Analysis:

Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on secondary market activities, including gain-on-sale, profitability analysis, and loan sale performance.

Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate pricing strategies, product profitability, and new business initiatives.

Present findings and recommendations to senior management on market conditions, investor trends, and execution strategies.

• Investor Relations and Compliance:

Maintain strong working relationships with investors, servicers, and secondary market partners.

Ensure compliance with all agency and investor guidelines, policies, and procedures related to loan sales and securitization.

Location and Schedule
  • This is a full-time, office-based position in a modern, cozy environment in our Troy, MI office.

  • Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions).

  • Experience with SQL or other data manipulation tools is a plus.

  • Familiarity with secondary market technology platforms (e.g., optimal blue, MIEC, QRM) is highly desirable.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
