Machine Shop Trainee – Entry-Level / No Experience Needed

Mid-America Machining is looking to hire multiple motivated individuals to join our team as Machine Shop Trainees.

If you enjoy hands-on work, like working with tools, and want to learn a skilled trade, this could be a great career opportunity for you.

This is a hands-on, entry-level position with paid, on-the-job training. We’re looking for dependable people with a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Do

As a trainee, you’ll learn the basics of mold making, including:

  • Disassembling, cleaning, and assembling molds
  • Learning to use mills, drill presses, sand blasters, and metal finishing tools
  • Working side-by-side with experienced team members who will train you on the job

What We’re Looking For

  • Comfortable using basic hand tools (Allen wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Dependable attendance and a positive attitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion and work 40+ hours per week (Monday–Friday)
  • All new hires train on 1st shift (7:00 AM start). Flexibility for future 2nd or 3rd shift opportunities is a plus as we continue building our off-shift teams.
