MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented E-2 Tactical Operations Specialist to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite per week.

The E-2 Tactical Operations Specialist will leverage their tactical aviation and military operations experience combined with systems engineering expertise to support the E-2/C-2 Airborne Command and Control Systems Program Office (PMA-231), delivering engineering and technical support to ensure airworthiness, program risk mitigation, and alignment with Fleet mission needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Apply Subject Matter Expertise from your experience as a Naval Aviator to identify, define, and document technical data for NATOPS/NATIP products for E-2/C-2 aircraft and associated weapons systems.

  • Provide analysis of operational suitability of naval aviation platforms, weapons, sensors, and systems, and develop material required for operators to employ and maintain these systems safely and effectively.

  • Develop and present Naval Aviation Missions and Capabilities (NAMC) training seminar material to DoD personnel and apply analytic expertise to support technical exchanges, briefings, and workshops.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for specific aircraft/weapon systems and subsystems, including operational procedures, failure analysis, and technical support related to avionics, airframes, navigation, and fire control.

  • Review complex technical problems, provide solutions for software, hardware, and systems, and troubleshoot operating anomalies using data review methodologies and automated evaluation programs.

  • Provide project execution, business and technical operations, strategic initiatives, and business improvements to support exceptionally complex technical and organizational tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in a Business, Management, Technical, or Scientific discipline from an accredited college or university

  • 12+ years of recent and relevant professional experience with aircraft tactical systems employment

  • Prior experience with Fleet operations, Fleet issues, deficiencies, operator needs, and mission environments

  • Must be a graduate of a Navy Weapons School, Test Pilot School (TPS) or possess a strike lead qualification

  • Must be a prior USN/USMC pilot or NFO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing Class Desk support, including extensive coordination with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Fleet stakeholders

  • Deep knowledge of NAVAIR engineering policies, processes, technical review requirements, and experience supporting Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR)

  • Experience with the E-2D Hawkeye as a pilot or NFO

  • Experience supporting acquisition lifecycle phases, Flight Clearances, Airworthiness issues, Configuration Management, and Systems Safety Working Groups (SSWG)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current or active DoD Secret clearance or higher with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $116,400.00-$194,900.00.
