Job description

Securitas Canada Limited is one of Canada's largest providers of security services and a leader within our industry. We provide Integrated Guarding, Remote Guarding, Mobile Guarding, Onsite Guarding, Investigative Services and Technology Services.

We are seeking highly motivated security personnel for positions within a physical security environment specializing in the protection of Government sites. You must be able to work 28-40 hours per week.

Position Overview:

Wages: $18.00/hr (depending on site)

Status: On Call

Shift timings: Varies (Days, Afternoons, Overnights, Weekends)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • De-escalate tense situations by verbal communication using a variety of techniques designed to reduce risk.
  • Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
  • Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons. Denying entry to anyone without authorization. 
  • Operate gates at gatehouse locations, screening all visitors and truck drivers.
  • Inspect trailers ensuring trailer doors are locked and sealed before the truck leaves.
  • Assist mobile operations teams with security protocols and enhance security at strategic locations. 
  • Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
  • Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.
  • Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Valid Ontario Security License
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • 1 year of security experience minimum within large scale security operations is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance
  • G or G2 class drivers' license with your own vehicle is required to travel to sites
  • A valid driver's license is required.  Successful candidates must provide a recent driver's abstract as a condition of employment with 5 years driving experience.
