Job description

GENERAL NATURE OF WORK: This is semi-skilled work responsible for preparing and selling a la carte food and beverage services to customers. An employee in this class reports directly to the Golf Course Manager or Assistant Golf Course Manager for daily instruction, schedule and general duties.

EQUIPMENT & JOB LOCATION: This position requires specific knowledge of Food, Beverage and Alcohol services and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in all positions in this class.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provides courteous service to the guests.
  • Responsibly handles monetary & credit transactions.
  • Responsibly prepares and services a la carte food services in a sanitary manner.
  • Responsibly services alcohol products to customers following the state and federal laws.
  • Understands all basic kitchen equipment and its uses - including set-up, break down and clean up.
  • Completion of food services including prep work and set up.
  • Training of Temperature Danger Zone.
  • Training of proper cooking temperatures for hazardous food materials.
  • Upon receiving shipments, checks for proper counts, condition and quality of product.
  • Assures all products are rotated and properly stored to minimize waste.
  • Ensures that all equipment and supplies are readily available.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand during shift.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs+.
  • Maintains a neat and sanitary work environment.
  • Maintains personal hygiene to departmental standards.
  • Communicates with management regarding issues in the kitchen, bar and patio.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:


  • Operates equipment as necessary.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Prior Alcohol and food training and/or certification suggested.
  • Prior experience with POS systems and computer skills.

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; or any combination of training and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • Ability to work other than normal hours, and to work various shifts as necessary.
