Job description

TRC Talent is partnering with a rapidly growing leader in the fabrication and metal manufacturing industry. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Staff Engineer to join the team. The Staff Engineer will play a key role in advancing product design, engineering excellence, and manufacturing innovation. This individual will serve as a technical leader across structural and mechanical engineering initiatives, helping guide complex projects from concept through production while supporting continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

-Drive the evaluation and implementation of new materials, technologies, and engineering approaches to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

-Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using 3D CAD, finite element analysis (FEA), and other engineering simulation tools.

-Partner with cross-functional teams to create scalable product platforms that promote design standardization, component commonality, and efficient manufacturing practices.

-Perform technical assessments, risk evaluations, and economic analyses to support product development decisions and strategic engineering initiatives.

-Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations related to product performance, quality concerns, and field issues, implementing effective long-term corrective actions.

-Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members, helping develop skills and strengthen engineering best practices.

-Ensure products and designs comply with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

-Contribute to the advancement of engineering processes, leveraging emerging technologies and data-driven decision-making to support innovation.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.

-10+ years of engineering experience with a strong background in product development, structural design, mechanical systems, and material selection.

-Hands-on experience with 3D CAD platforms, FEA software, and engineering modeling tools.

-Solid understanding of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, and assembly techniques.

-Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and make sound engineering decisions.

-Strong communication and leadership skills with experience influencing cross-functional teams.

-Self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys tackling challenging engineering problems.
