Job description

Position Summary Purpose of Position The Start Smart Basketball Staff is responsible for assisting with leading basketball stations and games for youth ages 3-6, and there will be an emphasis on parent-child interaction. Position Accountability General day-to-day supervision, administrative direction, and performance evaluation shall be received from the Deputy Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Director. Supervision Exercised This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Term of Employment This position is a seasonal position. The 2027 season will run January 7 through February 18, and specific dates will be determined at a later time. Major Duties & Responsibilities The following duties are normal for the position.

These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned. Provides general supervision and leadership for program participants Responsible for assisting Start Smart Leader with activities. Assists with instructing and leading participants in games and stations.

Provides effective communication with Start Smart Leader. Education, Experience, & Qualifications Knowledge of basketball and supervising children in an educational or recreational setting and leading kids in active games. Ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision Physical Demands & Work Environment Physical Demands The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
