Seasonal Park Specialist
DPI Staffing is partnering with one of our customers in Eugene. We are seeking dependable and hardworking individuals for Seasonal Park Specialist positions. This role supports the maintenance, repair, and overall operation of the city’s park system. Work is performed in a safety-sensitive environment and may involve independent or team-based assignments. The position also requires interacting with the public using strong communication and de-escalation skills.

Job Title: Seasonal Park Specialist
Location: Eugene
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am- 3:30pm.
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour DOE
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of park maintenance, installation, and repair tasks
  • Maintain Park grounds, buildings, and natural resource areas
  • Conduct routine landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, and irrigation support
  • Provide janitorial services such as cleaning restrooms, shelters, and public facilities
  • Remove graffiti and assist with illegal campsite clean-up
  • Assist with tree care, including pruning, removal, planting, and transplanting
  • Support landscape development and restoration projects, including planting and invasive species removal
  • Clear brush, rake debris, chip wood, and maintain open channels
  • Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment used in park operations
  • Update and track work orders using tablets and digital systems
  • Interact professionally with park visitors and community members
Equipment Used:
Includes tractors, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, edgers, chippers, loaders, stump grinders, mowers, dump trucks, trailers, and various hand and power tools.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors in park facilities
  • Regular travel between work sites
  • Exposure to environmental and occupational hazards such as noise, chemicals, sharp objects, insects, and uneven terrain
  • Occasional interaction with difficult or hostile individuals
Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely operate tools, machinery, and City vehicles
  • Commitment to following all safety procedures in a safety-sensitive environment
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in landscaping, maintenance, or related fields is preferred but not required
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety and equipment operation procedures
  • Must have valid driver’s license
