Job Title: Ride Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Location: Canton, TX

Job Type: Full-Time Position

Salary: Starting $25 / Hour

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / General Manager

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of the Ride Maintenance Technician is to ensure all rides, attractions, and mechanical equipment at Yesterland Farm operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company safety standards.


The successful candidate will be responsible for completing inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to minimize ride downtime and ensure a safe guest experience. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational readiness during daily operations as well as supporting seasonal setup and teardown efforts.


Responsibilities

Perform daily ride inspections prior to opening to ensure attractions are operating safely and properly.

Complete preventative maintenance on rides, attractions, and mechanical equipment to reduce operational downtime.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving rides, attractions, equipment, and facility systems.

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems as needed.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and repair documentation.

Ensure all rides comply with company safety standards and operational procedures.

Respond quickly to ride breakdowns and maintenance issues during operating hours.

Assist with seasonal ride setup, teardown, winterization, and major repairs during off-season periods.

Perform routine inspections on tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas.

Communicate equipment concerns and repair needs to leadership in a timely manner.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop environment.

Assist with general facility maintenance projects when needed.

Ensure all work is completed in a "Safety First and Foremost" manner.

Work collaboratively with operations teams to minimize disruptions to guest experiences.

Project an "Always Accessible" image to team members while maintaining strong communication skills.

Qualifications 


High school diploma preferred but not required.

Minimum of two years of mechanical experience required (automotive, agricultural, industrial, amusement, or similar industries).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required.

Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is preferred.

Welding and fabrication experience is preferred but not required.

Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and repair documentation.

Must be comfortable operating tools, equipment, and machinery safely.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor as needed.

Must be able to work outdoors in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and seasonal overtime as needed.

Must possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be willing to travel when needed.
