Summary:
The mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime. IDOC has a vacancy for a full-time Correctional Case Manager at the Nampa Community Reentry Center in Nampa, Idaho. Applicants must be willing to work in a correctional environment, and the incumbent will be required to work in direct contact with residents. The Correctional Case Manager will provide direct client services, case management, and program delivery for offenders within the adult felony correctional system.
Responsibilities:
  1. Direct client services. Conduct initial intake for offender, develop case management plan, and referrals. Modify case management plan where necessary. Intervene in crisis situations.
  2. Case management. Meet with offenders in compliance with policy and case management plan. Document offender status. Assist offenders in obtaining proper identification. Prepare offenders to meet with the Parole Commission. Assist with transition back into the community in areas such as housing, community treatment, and employment. Work with security, mental health, and other groups as required to effectively manage offender behavior and performance.
  3. Program delivery. Facilitate programs in areas such as substance abuse, aggression replacement, sex offender treatment, cognitive behavioral education for offenders to meet treatment plan requirements. Review program-related assignments. Enter program-related information into automated records systems.

Minimum Qualifications: Your resume needs to clearly articulate how your skills, education and experience meet the qualifications below -
  1. Good knowledge of human service principles and practices to include behavioral management methods, rehabilitation and treatment programs, personality traits associated with criminal offenders, social and family systems, cognitive behavioral education and case management methods. Typically gained from completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in the human services or criminal justice related field such as social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, correctional counseling, criminal justice, criminology, education, law and justice, alcohol and drug related studies, specialized fields like addictions or closely related field or gained from working as a certified Alcohol and Drug counselor with at least one year full time work experience performing related work or typically gained from three years of full-time work experience to include performing client assessments, case management, developing and implementing treatment plans, and/or monitoring client behaviors.
  2. Computer proficiency for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters and retrieving documents. Typically gained from at least 6 months experience where doing data entry, composing reports and letters, and retrieving documents was part of your job.
  3. Willing to work non-traditional hours in a correctional facility providing program facilitation and case management services to offenders (non-traditional hours may include evenings and/or weekends).
