Travel: Limited; role is based primarily in the Orange County office with travel of 1-2 days quarterly

About the Role

  • Lead HR strategy and compliance for a fast-scaling, high-volume staffing and security services organization operating across multiple states.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to protect the company while enabling rapid, seasonal growth.
  • Own recruiting strategy and management during major seasonal surges tied to large-scale events.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the organization's day-to-day compliance partner on California and multi-state labor law, including meal/rest break, wage, and timekeeping compliance.
  • Manage and mentor a Recruiting Manager and team, scaling headcount from the hundreds to several thousand during peak seasonal periods.
  • Build strategic, creative sourcing pipelines beyond traditional recruiting channels.
  • Drive adoption and full utilization of HR systems, including a new HRIS/ATS implementation and learning management platforms.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with field operations leaders across multiple regions.
  • Support the legal team on employment-related matters and investigations as needed.
  • Oversee employee relations, training compliance, and HR policy execution across a large, diverse, frontline workforce.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience in HR leadership within a high-volume, multi-state workforce environment (staffing, hospitality, events, entertainment, or similar industries with large seasonal fluctuations).
  • Strong, hands-on California employment law and compliance knowledge.
  • Proven experience managing or scaling a recruiting function through periods of rapid, seasonal headcount change.
  • A collaborative, approachable leadership style with the ability to build trust across a young, diverse, frontline employee base.
  • Comfort with modern HR technology platforms (HRIS, ATS, LMS) and a track record of driving adoption of new systems.
  • Based in or able to relocate to Orange County, CA, with the ability to work on-site several days per week.
  • Experience in the security services industry is a plus, but not required.
