• Support the Executive Chef in leading the daily operation of the kitchen.
• Prepare and execute our seasonal vegetable-forward, plant based menu with precision, consistency, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Lead kitchen operations during service while maintaining high culinary standards.
• Supervise, train, and mentor line cooks and prep cooks.
• Assist with menu development, recipe testing, and seasonal specials.
• Monitor food quality, portion consistency, and presentation.
• Manage inventory, ordering, food cost, and waste reduction.
• Ensure compliance with all NYC Department of Health food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
• Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Support private dining events, tea experiences, and special programming as needed.

• 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in vegetarian, vegan, or plant based restaurants.
• Strong knowledge of plant based cooking techniques, seasonal produce, and vegetable-focused cuisine.
• Passion for seasonal ingredients, thoughtful cooking, and continuous learning.
• Experience with inventory management, ordering, food costing, and kitchen organization.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient during high-volume service.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
• Current NYC Food Protection Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing for extended periods
