The Location:

Come experience "The Brushy Creek Life" in Brushy Creek, Texas, just minutes north of Austin. Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District enjoys the quiet rural aspects of small-town America while having proximity to cosmopolitan amenities.

The Organization:

Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000+ residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community.

At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes.

Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members.

Camp Counselor (After School):

Now Hiring for the 2026–2027 School Year! This position begins August 10, 2026, and follows the school calendar.

As an Camp Counselor, you'll partner with co-counselors to lead a group of awesome kids through fun, enriching activities. From creative crafts to active games, your goal is to create a safe, engaging, and uplifting environment where every child feels seen, supported, and encouraged to grow.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Greets participants by name, foster a welcoming and respectful environment, builds positive relationships as a role model, and communicates professionally with parents or guardians regarding participant experiences, needs, or concerns.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe program spaces, sets up and tidies activity areas as needed, and supports fellow staff members while contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Monitors children's safety, behavior, and well-being throughout program hours, enforces program rules and policies, and responds appropriately to emergencies or incidents.
  • Assists with planning and leading crafts, games, enrichment activities, and other recreational programming, while encouraging participation and creativity.
  • Accurately utilizes KidCheck to ensure safe sign-in and sign-out of participants by authorized guardians, reviews participant information including allergies, medical needs, photo permissions, and special accommodations, and maintains paper attendance rosters to track daily participation and ensure required staff-to-participant ratios are met.
  • Stays active throughout your shift-you'll be on your feet and moving.

Requirements:

  • Must hold (or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire) a valid American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification – Brushy Creek MUD provides that training at no cost to employees.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

Schedule:

  • Shift 1: Monday through Friday 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm
