The Location:

Come experience "The Brushy Creek Life" in Round Rock, Texas, just minutes north of Austin. Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District enjoys the quiet rural aspects of small-town America while having proximity to cosmopolitan amenities.

The Organization:

Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000+ residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community.

At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes.

Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members.

District Project Manager:

Brushy Creek MUD is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee all phases of multifaceted construction maintenance and rehabilitation projects for the District-from planning through to completion. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Board of Directors, Citizen Advisory committees, and the Brushy Creek MUD community by delivering projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with our mission and values.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages construction and renovation projects, including developing schedules, cost estimates, and status reports. Monitors the quality and progress of professional services and contractor performance
  • Construction Planning: Oversees contract documents, construction plans, and pay applications. Recommends revisions and mage updates.
  • Contract Management: Reviews, negotiates, and recommendations for approval of contracts and change orders. Provides input into the selection of professional service providers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Attends and facilitates project-related meetings, including design progress, pre-bid, bid-opening, and construction progress. Collaborate with the General Manager, Board of Directors, committees, and departments to coordinate project needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures all projects meet applicable building codes, plans, and specifications. Also, ensures compliance with ADA requirements in design and construction projects, addressing accessibility needs throughout all project phases.
  • Project Close-out: Reviews completed work and prepare documentation for project close-out.
  • Procurement: Collaborates with Purchasing to prepare RFP/RFQ documents, contracts, and purchase orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, City and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Proven ability to read and comprehend plans and technical specifications.
