Job description

Gedeon GRC Consulting is looking for a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to join our firm. The Senior Marine Structural Engineer is responsible and accountable for the designing of new buildings, renovations, conversions and extensions. This position will ensure the safety, durability and physical integrity of the project. This position also requires developing relationships with architects and clients with a view to obtaining more work.

SALARY RANGE:
$150,000 - $175,000 annually. Pay commensurate with experience.

LOCATION:
This is a Hybrid role with 30% of expected travel to sites across the 5 boroughs of NYC and Long Island. Also, the ability to travel to Houston, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ– Lead, supervise and mentor a design team by delegating job responsibilities, managing project flow, reviewing calculations and drawings.
โ– Ensure company policies and procedures are enforced and document any performance related activities such as outstanding achievements or disciplinary actions.
โ– Perform design of structural components for Marine and Waterfront structures including wharfs, piers, marine terminals, floodwalls and seawalls.
โ– Conduct facility condition surveys.
โ– Perform in-depth inspection of facilities for the development of design and contract documents.
โ– Ability to monitor project budgets to ensure projects are successfully and profitably executed.
โ– Perform comprehensive structural engineering analysis and design with structural assessments and evaluation of existing structures. Report the findings to the Director of Buildings.
โ– Calculate the load and grade requirements or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
โ– Create graphical representations of structures and recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality or performance.
โ– Perform calculations for building gravity and lateral structural systems in accordance with local building codes.
โ– All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
โ– Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Civil Engineering.
โ– 10 year's related experience in A/E/C industry, preferably in the fields of ports, marine and/or coastal engineering.
โ– Experience in detail design in port and/or marine structures, including development of load cases, detail structural analysis and design according to best practice codes and standards.
โ– Professional Engineer (PE), SECB a plus, ASCE, SE I or SE II, OSHA Certified required.
โ– Strong understanding of building codes, government regulations, OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
โ– Knowledge of BIM/AutoCAD software and other structural design software.
โ– Highly analytical with the ability to calculate complex mathematical equations.
โ– Expertise of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
