Job Description The City of Springfield is now accepting applications for Seasonal Laborers to support a variety of departments throughout the City. This is a great opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in public service. Seasonal opportunities may be available in the following areas: Airport Facilities Forestry Water Treatment Plant Wastewater Treatment Plant Examples of Duties Performing general grounds maintenance such as mowing, trimming, and debris removal Assisting with basic repairs and facility upkeep Supporting daily operations at assigned division Operating hand tools and light equipment Maintaining a clean and safe work environment Following all safety procedures and City policies All other job related duties as assigned Qualifications Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions Ability to follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team Ability to frequently and continuously lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 40lbs Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license and meet and maintain insurability under the City'sinsurance plan.
