Description

Summary/Objective

The Inventory Specialist supports the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Supervisor through the management of inventory. This includes inbound scheduling, receiving, transfers, cycle counts, dunnage scheduling, and any other inventory process or procedures that are developed as a continuous improvement. Various administrative tasks and other duties may be required as deemed necessary to deliver the company's goals. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with local Warehouse Manager to support daily inventory functions and processes.
  • Oversee all inventory management procedures within your warehouse including all inbound scheduling, receiving, transfers, cycle counts, dunnage scheduling, and any other inventory processes or procedures that are developed as continuous improvement. 
  • Communicate with team members. 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while operating forklifts and handling products in the warehouse, including wearing proper PPE and following warehouse guidelines for safe material handling.

Requirements

Education and Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with a sales and distribution organization
  • Proficiency with EoStar, Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and general computer skills

Work Environment

This position requires exposure to all seasonal weather conditions, traffic noise, automotive fumes, and cramped quarters. This position consistently operates in a refrigerated environment, approximately 38 Fahrenheit. 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. On rare occasion, the employee may be required to lift and move up to 160 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
