Job description

SUMMARY:
The Lead Installer is responsible for the installation and repair of Marvin Windows and Doors while ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction. This position requires the use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and other installation equipment. Responsibilities include removal of existing windows and doors, installation of new window and door products, installation of window treatments including shades, blinds, muntins, and Rolscreens, and completion of jobsite cleanup.
The Lead Installer serves as the primary onsite point of contact for the customer during installation, communicates job progress and expectations, ensures work is completed according to company standards, and provides direction and guidance to installation team members onsite.
Principal DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Reads work order form and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material, tool, and work aid requirements.
  • Key point of contact with the customer on the jobsite.
  • Provides work direction to others on the jobsite.
  • Removes existing windows and doors.
  • Measures, marks, and cuts the existing opening to the appropriate dimensions for new products.
  • Secures windows and doors to walls/openings, according to the installation guidelines published by Marvin Windows and Doors and within the quality standards established by Marvin Corporation.
  • Installs window and door hardware.
  • Patches drywall as required.
  • Measures, cuts, assembles, and installs metal framing and decorative trim for windows and doorways.
  • Cleans the job site after installation.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and serves as a reputable Mountain West Windows and Doors representative on all job sites.
  • Ask the customer to complete the Certificate of Completion. Strives for 100% "Very Satisfied" customers.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the highest quality of work.
  • Provide second measures and/or field inspections as required.
  • Works in a way that prevents damage to the product.
  • Ensures that all product/material removed from the warehouse has been scanned by warehouse personnel.
  • Ensures that warehouse personnel and/or the material coordinator is alerted to any product/material returns.
  • Uses, maintains, and stores company provided tools appropriately. This includes, but is not limited to, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e., shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to the manager.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and comply with the company Fleet Safety Policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle tools and materials, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and perform repetitive motions related to window and door installation activities. The employee must be able to safely operate hand and power tools, inspect installation work, and perform tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, with or without assistance, and work in a physically demanding environment. The employee may be required to work from ladders, lifts, or elevated areas, including tasks performed one to two stories above ground level. The position may require working outdoors and in varied weather conditions.
The employee may occasionally perform administrative tasks, including use of a phone, computer, and electronic systems for communication, documentation, and job-related reporting. Work hours may vary based on project schedules, seasonal demands, and business needs. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
