Job description

Seasonal Position- approximately 2 - 3 month period

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated Broadband Operations Intern to join our team for a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience within our Broadband Division. This program is designed to provide practical exposure to the full lifecycle of fiber broadband delivery. Working closely with our fiber engineering, network, & outside plant teams, the intern will gain valuable, real-world experience across three critical areas of our telecommunications infrastructure: Fiber Design, Network Operations, & Outside Plant (OSP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the observance and enforcement of CEMC safety rules, procedures, safety policies, and bulletins
  2. Assists with FTTH design services (OH & UG).
  3. Assists with updates and revisions for fiber construction Work Orders and any related work within GIS.
  4. Performs field inspections on all FTTH lines and equipment to verify accuracy within GIS.
  5. Assists Broadband Network Engineer on various tasks to include software upgrades, fiber hub site maintenance, OLT and CPE testing, and various other assignments.
  6. Assists OSP Team on various field inspections, drop/install quality control, new construction, fiber splicing, etc.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned to fulfill the objectives of the company and position.
