Requirements

SUMMARY

Responsible for the Shipping Department with various assigned duties while under the direct supervision of Warehouse Management. Leads the work of the Shipping personnel performing related work. The Shipping Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipping of goods, overseeing a team to coordinate shipments, maintain inventory levels of shipping materials, and uphold operational standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, keen attention to detail, and a deep understanding of ERP systems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Lead/Oversee day to day shipping duties and guide/train employees accordingly.

Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely if certified. 

Inspects in ensures product both domestically and internationally utilizing UPS world ship, FedEx and DHL, Freight Carriers, LCL & LTL Shipments are done correctly and efficiently.

Communicate professionally with customers, freight forwarders and all employees within the organization.

Works closely with QC and Production to ensure On Time Delivery.

Oversee shipment quotes, estimates & scheduling of team.

Effectively use organizations systems to pull stock required for shipments and work tickets.

Process shipping transactions within EPICOR.

Schedule, prepare inspect and approve all shipments and loads.

Maintain shipping records, logs, and filing systems.

Ensure that all items requiring traceability have certifications assigned to them.

Ensure all necessary paperwork is available for all shipments (BOL, Packing Slip, Commercial Invoice, NAFTA, Certificate of Origin & all other corresponding certs).

Troubleshoot/investigate shipping issues and present corrective actions to Supervisor.

International shipping experience & knowledge of freight and sea shipping regulations and practices.

Track mistakes, OTD issues and personnel.

Must be willing to work OT when required.

Support Receiving department as needed.

Perform other duties/tasks as assigned.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation following 5S principles. 

Communicate with leads, supervisors, or managers to clarify instructions or report issues.

Cross-train in related tasks and perform other duties as assigned. 

Follow all rules, policies, and guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 3 to 4 year of logistics or related experience.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Standing 23%, sitting 10%, walking 17%, computer use 18%, bending 16%,

Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes and safety glasses.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
