Job description

Embroidery Production Manager

Miami Mixed Media — Little River, Miami

Miami Mixed Media is looking for the next person to join and lead our embroidery production team.

This is a hands-on leadership role inside one of Miami’s busiest creative production shops — where art, fashion, music, brands, and manufacturing all collide under one roof.

We’re looking for someone who understands commercial embroidery production, knows how to manage people and deadlines, and isn’t afraid to jump on the machines and work alongside the team.

This is not a desk-only management position.

No two days here are exactly the same.

One week we’re embroidering hundreds or thousands of garments for national retail programs. The next week we’re producing hats for a local brand, handling rush orders, testing specialty embroidery techniques, or preparing equipment for a live event.

We move fast, stay creative, and care deeply about quality.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for helping lead the embroidery department and making sure orders continue moving through production from start to finish.

You’ll be:

  • Managing the daily embroidery production schedule
  • Keeping track of all open embroidery orders and deadlines
  • Prioritizing jobs based on due dates and production needs
  • Assigning work to embroidery operators
  • Managing and supporting the embroidery production team
  • Operating commercial embroidery machines as part of your daily responsibilities
  • Jumping onto machines when production is busy or additional help is needed
  • Setting up embroidery jobs and preparing machines for production
  • Loading designs and confirming thread colors
  • Checking embroidery placement, sizing, and garment specifications
  • Reviewing and approving first pieces before full production
  • Monitoring quality throughout each production run
  • Making sure production quantities are accurate
  • Troubleshooting thread breaks, tension issues, registration problems, and other common embroidery issues
  • Helping identify machine problems before they affect production
  • Coordinating rush orders and adjusting production priorities when necessary
  • Making sure operators have the thread, hoops, garments, files, and supplies needed for each job
  • Keeping the embroidery department organized and production-ready
  • Communicating delays or production problems before they become deadline problems
  • Training and helping develop embroidery operators
  • Working closely with the rest of the production team to keep orders moving through the shop
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who already understands a commercial embroidery production environment.

You should be comfortable working on the machines yourself while also managing the bigger picture of the department.

You should have:

  • Commercial embroidery machine experience
  • Experience operating multi-head embroidery machines
  • Previous leadership, supervisor, or production management experience
  • Strong understanding of embroidery quality and production
  • Experience setting up embroidery jobs
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot common embroidery problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines at the same time
  • Ability to communicate clearly with production staff and management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to hold employees accountable while also helping them succeed
  • A strong sense of urgency when deadlines are approaching
  • The ability to take ownership of the department instead of waiting to be told what needs to happen next

Experience with Barudan embroidery machines is a major plus.

This Position Is Hands-On

We want to be very clear about this.

Being the Embroidery Production Manager does not mean standing back and watching everyone else produce.

You’ll be expected to know what every order needs, keep the team organized, manage deadlines, and make sure production stays on track.

But when the department needs help, you will also be expected to get on an embroidery machine and produce.

The best person for this position is someone who can lead the team while working alongside them.

You’ll Be Successful Here If You
  • Like staying busy
  • Are naturally organized
  • Pay attention to small details
  • Know how to manage people
  • Can stay calm when priorities change
  • Understand that production deadlines matter
  • Communicate problems early
  • Take pride in producing quality work
  • Are willing to help wherever the department needs you
  • Can lead without being afraid to work alongside your team

We’re not looking for someone who simply points out problems.

We’re looking for someone who helps solve them.

Why Join Us:

At Miami Mixed Media, we take pride in being both creative and disciplined — a place where precision meets passion. You’ll join a team that celebrates craftsmanship, supports each other’s growth, and takes pride in turning ideas into high-quality products.

If you’re motivated, reliable, and ready to grow your skills in a company that values excellence, we’d love to meet you.

How to Apply:

Please send your resume and a short note about why you’d be a great fit for our team.

We look forward to meeting motivated individuals who bring skill, positive energy, and dedication to the Miami Mixed Media family.
