Seasonal Driver's Helper - Collegedale TN

Pay

$21.87 / hour

Tiered Completion Bonus: Earn an extra lump-sum bonus for completing the full assignment through January 1, 2027. Bonus amounts are based on your start date:

  • Started in September: $1,000
  • Started in October: $750
  • Started in November: $500

Schedule

Shift/Hours: 10-14 hour days, must be flexible with workdays and dispatch/start times

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Seasonal Driver's Helper to join our Transportation team. This temporary position supports our drivers during our peak Christmas season. The assignment begins September 28, 2026, and ends January 1, 2027.

In this role, you will travel on short-haul and single-driver routes, performing the physical unloading of snack cakes at delivery locations to maximize route flexibility and driver efficiency. This is an excellent foot in the door at McKee Foods-seasonal hires will become eligible to apply for internal, long-term positions starting November 23, 2026.

  • Freight Unloading: Accurately and safely unload the trailer and handle product at various customer delivery locations in compliance with company standards
  • Safety Operations: Serve as a safety spotter while the driver maneuvers the vehicle. Safely operate basic emergency safety devices (fire extinguishers, flares, warning triangles) as needed.
  • Route Assistance: Travel in the truck cab with drivers for up to 10 hours per day, assisting with necessary trip paperwork and helping inspect the truck for defects
  • Inventory Control: Help verify each customer's order and list any discrepancies on delivery receipts
  • Professional Representation: Maintain a clean cab, practice good personal hygiene, and strictly adhere to the company driver uniform policy. Conduct yourself as a respectable, cooperative representative of McKee Foods with customers and the public

Required Qualifications

  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, write, work with numbers, and effectively communicate job information to accomplish tasks
  • Willingness to travel in the truck and maintain a highly flexible schedule
  • Ability to frequently and repetitively lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must pass a Post-Offer Employment Test (POET) to ensure the safe execution of heavy physical demands

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manual labor, warehouse support, freight handling, or loading/unloading roles
  • Experience or willingness to learn how to operate on-board computer systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and a strong attendance record
