Duties * Provides senior information technology support to the Core Technology Branch. * Conducts planning and implements actions against potential storage, network, computer, and site failures * Performs a wide range of Active Directory system administration functions for the domain sites. * Performs backups, restorations, and disaster recovery when network system fails * Maintains security patch updates and compliance reporting. * Installs, configures and fine tunes the operating system and application software. * Routinely conducts performance monitoring, server performance, and troubleshoots for hardware and software systems. Basic Requirement for IT SPECIALIST (Systems Analysis): Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which demonstrates experience managing and maintaining operating remote access and virtual private network systems; conducting planning and implementation actions against potential storage, network, computer, and site failures; and performing system administration duties such as installing, configuring, troubleshooting hardware and software in local network. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
