Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this position, either directly or through others, the candidate will:

  • Marketing Competitive Bid/Quote Management: Lead competitive bidding and quote processes for marketing initiatives, with a focus on retail campaigns, in-store marketing, shopper marketing, POS, and promotions.
  • RFx Management: Develop and manage RFx events (RFI/RFP/RFQ) for creative, media, print, digital, and retail activation agencies and suppliers.
  • Policy Support: Maintain SEA Procurement (local) and Suwon (global) competitive bidding standards and policies tailored to retail marketing and store execution.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and provide reports to Compliance and Internal Audit to ensure processes meet company policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Project Planning and Roadmap: Work with marketing and retail business teams to translate annual/seasonal plans into a sourcing roadmap. Support intake, prioritization, and project planning to ensure procurement is engaged early and aligned to timelines.
  • Negotiation Strategies: Execute retail-specific strategies for rate and term negotiations. Develop negotiation strategies that reflect retail realities (tight timelines, seasonal peaks, in-store needs). Lead rate negotiations with agencies and marketing suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and flexibility for retail campaigns.
  • Legal Contract Review: Verify that commercial terms align with negotiated pricing and scope. Identify discrepancies and drive corrections before execution.
  • Vendor Validation: Validate new marketing and retail vendor requests for business fit, duplication, risk, and alignment with preferred supplier strategies. Coordinate with risk, finance, and legal teams as part of the onboarding and approval process.
  • System and Process Improvements: Use data and stakeholder feedback to identify gaps in marketing procurement workflows and tools (e.g., BQMS, CLM, intake forms). Recommend and support implementation of process and system enhancements that improve speed, compliance, transparency, and user experience.

    Background/Experience

    To qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience at Samsung in procurement or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in marketing procurement with a focus on retail campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
