Join Our Team as a Patient Access Coordinator!

What We're Looking For:

Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to patient care

Initiative, teamwork, and respect for privacy and dignity

Two years' experience in Insurance or Patient Registration in a healthcare environment (Associate or BA degree in a business-related field may substitute for experience, as approved)

Customer service experience required

High School Diploma or GED required; higher education preferred

Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook)

CHAA certification preferred within 6 months of hire

Ability to enter data using multiple computer applications

Excellent telephone and communication skills

Basic knowledge of medical terminology

What You Will Do: Provide excellent customer service during the patient access/intake process, executing patient access through the continuum of the revenue cycle to support efficiency, cost reduction, and service improvement. Perform duties according to established hospital procedures for the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.

Essential Job Functions:

Facilitate patient safety with accurate and timely patient identification

Complete patient access processes (pre-registration, registration, collections) timely and accurately

Conduct confidential and professional interviews for patient registration and discharge collections

Request, collect, and receipt monies according to financial policies

Activate accounts and disseminate charts appropriately

Function as Lead for patient access/intake process when Supervisor or Director is not on duty

Assist in audits, denial reports, and staff education on procedures and processes

Perform all other duties as assigned
